AMP Watermelon

Aaah, the one drink I was after my entire trip to the US. I am just a sucker for watermelon and watermelon flavored anything. Luckily for me and everyone south of the border, this drink is available almost everywhere and is pretty cheap at around $2 for a can.

Taste

Do yourself a favor and pour this drink in a glass. You do not want to miss out on the amazing and deep aroma. It is as intense as a watermelon Jolly Rancher. The flavor, unfortunately is not as intense as the aroma. It starts off with an overly carbonated AMP-original note, which is followed by a wave of artificial sweetener carrying some subtle watermelon flavors. It is not until the finish that the watermelon flavor truly blossoms. But that's a good thing in a way because the aftertaste is full of the watermelon flavor which lingers for a long time....awesome. Unfortunately there is also some sweetener notes present as well.

Energy

There are 157 mg of caffeine in the can and the effects are rather quick. I was greeted by a wave of jitters within 5-10 minutes of consuming a third of the can, which is a bit odd since there are no sugar in this drink. Unfortunately took another 10 minutes or so for my brain to catch up, wake up and start focusing on the tasks at hand. A short time thereafter, the caffeine kicked in and I was very energetic. The effects lasted for several hours and I did not experience a crash at the end. Pretty good stuff.

Scores:
Cost - $2
Taste - 8.2/10
Energy - 8.1/10

Overall - 16.3/20...amazing aroma, but the flavor could be a bit more intense
