Guru Full On Lemonade Energy Drink Review
Due to the lack of Guru Juicy in the Sobeys stores around the area, I have to try some of their other varieties. At a far away Sobeys I found the Full On kind. There were two types of containers both retailing for $2.99 CAD - the 473 mL one and the 355 mL one. Why was that they had two that were the same price? Was the 473 mL one being discontinued? I checked out Guru's website and found out that you can only buy 355 mL cans so perhaps the 473 mL ones were old stock. I am too lazy to ask anyone. Let's open the drink already.
The beverage has a very pale yellow color, just like real lemon juice. It does not taste like other lemonades you buy, it tastes a bit better. It is sour, but not too sour. The aftertaste is very refreshing, as expected from a lemon drink. The best part though, is that it is not very sweet. There is a slight ginseng undertone which may ruin the taste for some if you are too sensitive to its taste, but overall this lemonade tastes fantastic.
I was energized almost immediately. Perhaps that effect was due to the lemon taste and not so much to the caffeine since I don't think your body can absorb it and make use of it so quickly. Again, the can does not have a caffeine content listed, but after some searching online, I found out that it has the same amount of caffeine as the other Guru drinks - around 140 mg per can. Not as much as other drinks, but this is a 355 mL container and in combination with the great taste, this is a fantastic package.
Scores:
Cost - $2.99 CAD for a 355 mL can, but you may be able to find 473 mL ones for the same price
Taste - 8.6/10
Energy - 7.9/10...it may be less than AMP, Full Throttle, Monster and Rockstar, but it works surprisingly well
Overall - 16.5/20...great lemonade energy drink, a definite recommendation
