Red Bull Spring Edition

This Red Bull Spring Edition is not sold in Canada...or anywhere outside of Japan. But through the power of eBay and $14 you could get a can while the supplies last. Yup, the Canadian dollar is not doing too well these days. But that also includes shipping so hey, not bad.

Taste

This has to be the only Red Bull that looks the same on the inside as it does on the outside. The liquid has the same pink color as the can and the aromas...oh boy! One of the most delicate aromas I have ever smelled - roses, cherries and just a touch of the good ol' Red Bull. Yup, the Spring Edition is cherry blossom flavored...actually sakura and it smells so damn good.

The taste seems all too familiar at first with a wave of candy-like sweet Red Bull and something unidentifiable. But as soon as the carbonation goes away you are overwhelmed by a wave of delicate and semi-sweet floral, cherry and berry aromas that make you want to go back in for more. What's even better is the aftertaste. It is long lasting and the only flavors that stick around are those of the cherry blossoms. Amazing! Get a can.

Energy

Unless my Japanese is failing me, there are 80 mg of caffeine in this tiny container. The effects are the same as any other Red Bull. I got really hyped up and jittery within 10 minutes for about 20 minutes and then I just felt energized and just a touch less jittery. The effects ended much drama for me because I had just gotten up, but if you were to have this in the afternoon or evening, be ready for a crash.
