Continuing with the amp energy juices, today I am trying the mixed berry flavour.
The bottle and label are identical to that of the orange juice, with the exception of the color. It is purple here, which I presume is to symbolize the presence of berries. The juice has the same short expiration date, but once again that is of no concern to me.
The taste of the mixed berry energy juice is very similar to that of the orange juice since both have the same basic ingredients. The only difference here is the presence of blueberry/raspberry notes and that the orange flavour has been turned down a notch. There is still the detectable presence of the grape juice which gives the finish a bite. I hate to kill amp's buzz, but there was a slight bitter undertone in the first few sips. After that the acid killed and it was smooth sailing. Overall this is a great tasting caffeinated juice drink, but I prefer the orange flavour.
The same amount of caffeine is found in the mixed berry juice - 120 mg. Once again the juice woke me up without complicating anything. But unlike the boost I got from the orange juice, this one was more sudden. I went from being tired to fully awake without experiencing a gradual elevation in energy. Perhaps I was more rested this morning than yesterday morning. The boost lasted for a good two to two and a half hours, which is fairly decent for an energy drink of this type.
