Steaz Energy Organic Fuel Orange Review

I wandered into a Winners this weekend and saw a 4 pack of these Orange flavoured Steaz Energy drink for only $5. Well, that's a no-brainer.

Taste

A few months ago I reviewed the original and liked it very much with its earthy yerba mate and green tea flavours. This one has a similar flavour backbone with the yerba mate being dominant. The orange is also strong, which helps create a very refreshing taste. The yerba mate flavour gives way to the green tea in the finish, which gives way to a sweet candy orange finish. The earthiness has been toned down a little in this one and I think that the energy drink becomes more appealing to a wider audience.

Energy

The can contains 80 mg of natural caffeine, which is not a lot. Regardless of that, this energy drink does work. I started to feel energized within 10-15 minutes and felt great within another 20-30. The energy boost lasts for a couple of hours and it is very clean. There were no jitters and there was no crash at the end.

Ingredients: sparkling filtered water, organic evaporated cane juice, Sambazon organic acai juice, organic guarana extract, natural flavours, citric acid, Guayaki organic yerba mate extract, organic Fair Trade Certified Ceylon green tea, sodium citrate, beta carotene, natural color, ascorbic acid.

Scores:
Cost - $5.00 for a 4 pack from Winners
Taste - 8.5/10
Energy - 7/10

Overall - 15.5/20...great tasting tea-based drink with a decent energy kick
