XS Root Beer Blast Energy Drink Review

This is it, the last one of the bunch and the one I was least looking forward to trying since I am not a big root beer fan.

Taste

Believe it or not, this one actually has a very sweet and strong root beer aroma, which hits you soon after you open the can. Surprisingly, there is a lot of flavour. This is probably the one XS Energy Drink that is both sugar free without sacrificing the flavour. I do not like the carbonation though and there is a lot of it. The flavour may all be there, but the diet side of the drink does show its skin in the finish which slowly goes from heavy on the root beer to one that is heavy on artificial sweetener. Overall the drink tastes like any generic diet root beer without having any complex tones.

Energy

The caffeine content is pretty standard with 83 mg present in the 250 mL container. The delivery is similar to the other XS energy drinks - not a lot happens at first, due to the lack of sugar, but once the caffeine is absorbed by the system, the buzz is clean and lasts for just over an hour. There is not crash at the end, so do not worry.

Overall, this root beer energy drink surpassed my expectations with its strong flavour and decent performance for an energy drink this type and size.
