Pokka Lychee Tea Review

If you are on the market for iced tea, but you don't like the straight iced green tea (read "no sugar added"), this one is for you. Unlike other brewed teas, this is one is sweetened. On the back, the nutrition facts label states 55 grams of sugar per 500 mL. This means that the entire bottle contains 55 grams of sugar. Seems kind of high to me, but the tea might appeal to more people who enjoy the Nestea/Lipton Iced Tea.

While drinking it, you are left with the impression that the tea is only slightly sweetened, only enough to mask the bitterness of the brewed tea. As mentioned, that's not the case here. The tea IS sweet, but the sweetness does not hit you until after you are done drinking it, which leads me onto the aftertaste. The aftertaste is very sweet. Some might not like that, some might.

I am not a big fan of sweet drinks, but I did enjoy this one. The lychee tastes great and it tastes like the real thing as lychee juice has been added to the drink. I definitely recommend this to those who enjoy regular iced teas - Nestea or Lipton.

Scores:
Cost - 8.5/10 ($1.99 CA)
Taste - 8.2/10

Overall - 16.7/20...not bad, the aftertaste is a bit too sweet
