Monster Nitrous Anti Gravity Energy Drink Review

I have been waiting for years for some of the other Monster products to make their way across the border and I am so happy that 7-11 now carries 4 more Monster products. I got them all last night and will be reviewing them over the next week. I have had some of them in the States, but I have never carried them across the border to review them.

One of the first things I noticed about these new Monster products is the top. Check it out - there is an "M" sticker on them and once that is peeled off, you see the plastic pull tab...

or at least that's what I thought it was.

It is not!!!

It is actually a smart, plastic twist cap, which you can use to seal your drink for later. Very smart. In the States the caps are twist offs so I was very surprised when I saw this new design here. But enough about the can, lets try the drink.

Taste

The Monster Nitrous Anti Gravity is a bit of a foamy and "creamy" energy drink. It is fruity and sweet and like many other energy drinks, the sweetness does build up over time. The flavour is tropical and made up of mango and orange and reminds me of an improved Monster Khaos. I say improved because the Anti Gravity does not have a cough syrup taste or any other unpleasant flavours. The aftertaste is very pleasant too, though it starts to get really sweet towards the end. I like this "new" Monster product and for me Monster drinks are back in the game. For the last year or so, my go-to energy drink has been Beaver Buzz Citrus, but now I might think twice.

Energy

The 340 mL can contains 163 mg of caffeine, which is pretty decent considering that the bigger ones contain about 150 - 160. Combined with the sugar, I started to feel the effects of the drink within 15 minutes. Within another 15 I was wide awake and feeling at the top of my game. I did experience a slight case of the jitters, but that only lasted for about 10 minutes. Overall the energy kick lasted for about 2.5 hours and I was feeling great the whole time. There was no crash at the end, but you could sense that you are not as focused and energetic. Well done Monster.
