Full Throttle Fury Energy Drink New Can Design Review

What better time to review this older energy drink then now with its new can design? I have had Full Throttle Fury in the past, but never bothered to put a review until now. The drink costs the same as the original Full Throttle, which I reviewed yesterday, at $2.59 CAD per can. The can has the same design only it's red.

The Full Throttle Fury energy drink smells fantastic. The aroma is a blend of mellow tropical fruits with a touch of generic citrus undertone similar to the one from the original Full Throttle. The taste starts off with a combination of passion fruit, mango, pineapple and a little bit of carrots, and finishes on a generic orange/tangerine note. With the exception of the finish, this is a very tasty energy drink with no cough syrup taste or other weird and bitter flavours. The sweetness is not bad at first, but builds up as you continue to drink and so does the generic citrus finish. Towards the end the aftertaste will start changing from a pleasant tropical one to as if you just ate some chewable Vitamin C tablets. Full Throttle Fury is great, but it still doesn't beat their Blue Demon flavour.

The can contains the typical Full Throttle amount of caffeine of 141 mg, which is on the lower end of what 473 mL energy drinks offer. It still works quite well, but you can get something much stronger, like NOS. I started to feel the effects of the sugar within 15 minutes and the effects of the caffeine within another 15. I avoided the jitters by drinking the can slowly and over the course of 30-40 minutes.

Medicinal Ingredients:
  • Taurine - 1,892 mg
  • Caffeine - 141 mg
  • Niacin - 34 mg
  • Riboflavin - 3.12 mg
  • Vitamin B6 - 3.78 mg
Non-Medicinal Ingredients: carbonated water, sugar/glucose-fructose, citric acid, natural flavour, sodium citrate, sodium benzoate, color, caramel color.

Scores:
Cost - $2.59 CAD for a 473 mL can
Taste - 8.9/10
Energy - 7.8/10

Overall - 16.7/20...one of the best tasting mainstream energy drinks on the market, but on the lower end of the caffeine scale

  2. 7-11, gas stations, various convenience stores. I guess you can find them online and pay the shipping, but it sounds like it will be too expensive.
